History

1994 - Sitec International established by Nicholas Hutt & Philip McConnell
After working together on such projects as the West of England Scheme, Nicholas and Philip quickly developed a professional working relationship. An opportunity arose to design and test data using office workstation simulators which was taken and used to work on and improve processes currently within the industry, and Sitec International was formed.

1998 - Link-up approval for Design & Consultancy (620401) & Testing & Commissioning (620404)

1999 - Sitec Testing &Commissioning established by Nicholas Hutt & David Loughlin
After Sitec International's initial success, it was decided to build on this success and establish a company to carry out Testing and Commissioning trackside - this lead to the founding of Sitec T&C Ltd. This decision was justified almost immediately by successfully completing the Testing and Commissioning on the Dartford Re-signalling Project.

2000 - John O'Boyle joined as Director of Operations

2001 - Lloyds Register for Quality Assurance approval (LRQA) to ISO 9001:2000

2003 - Network Rail – Contractor Assurance Case approval

2004 - Move to purpose designed offices in Chippenham, Wiltshire

As the company grew, it was relocated to a purposely designed location, incorporating the testing and commissioning, plus a new design facility. Having the ability to design, test and commission has reinforced Sitec's commitment to offer a greater range of services to the customer.

2004 - IRSE Licensing Scheme Assessing Agent Status Approval

2006 - Company Expansion Programme in partnership with Barclay's Venture Capital

This period saw the start of an expansion drive, which allowed us to also welcome 2 new board members, John Pettifor (Chairman), and John Barratt (Financial Director).

2007 - Further Board strengthening with 2 new members

Two new members were welcomed onto the board, John Marshall (Director of Quality & Compliance), and Floris Hei (Business Development Director). This reinforces Sitec's commitment to the future.

2007 - Investors in People accreditation

October Sitec achieved an accreditation for investors in people.

2007 - Continued Expansion of Design Department

As part of Sitec's continuing expansion, new premises solely for design has been developed, allowing increased capabilities, commitment and expertise.

Sitec is an employer of nearly 80 people, the majority of which are skilled railway signalling engineers. We invest in developing our workforce to be able to deal with the ever-growing demands for new technology and developments within the rail infrastructure.
